GM has green lighted the Granite for production. Few details are out but they are working to keep it with the rear hinged doors and concept styling. Look for a 4 turbo to be part of the package.
GM should do well with this if they can price it around $18,000-$29,000 Like the HHR. Keep in mind they may offer AWD and other higher grade options.
FYI the PT Cruzer is stopping production in July.

GM pays off its bailout loans
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Motors has made a final payment of $5.8 billion to the U.S. and Canadian governments, paying off the last of its $6.7 billion in loans, the company said Wednesday.
