Adding radio buttons on steering wheel

I just went to my dealership and purchased 3 items.
1. wiring harness
2. switch assembly
3. switch cover
All for less than $65.00

I removed the horn/airbag replaced the harness and installed the switches in less than 10 min.
The only tricky part was removing the horn which I did with a 6” allen wrench that you slide through the two holes in the rear cover of the steering wheel.

Easy mod, love the mute button.

Great idea...mine doesn't have that either. Sent this post to dealer to see what they would charge to do this as I worry about setting off the airbag.

Will post pics soon!
no reprograming needed
Airbag not an issue(remove positive cable from the battery) I didn't and it went great. I did it in the dealer lot in less than 10 min

[update from Moderators: removing the Positive cable from the battery is a DANGEROUS thing to do (as if you short out the + terminal to ground, you can cause a major short/battery explosion)- when disconnecting the battery ALWAYS disconnect the NEGATIVE post first.]

i have taken the air bags out of a few car withthe battery hoooked up. There are no sensors on the steering wheel, and you are usually safe. That being said, i am gonna disconnect the battery on the HHR.. LOL

I looked into this as well. Glad you actually found something though. I found the everything i needed online, but I couldnt get the horn cover off to actually get to anything. Can't wait for the howto/pics.
