Clunking issue: Solved!
#11
The Moog # is K750012. The NAPA # is 265-1833. Neither have grease zerks. Were you thinking of the actual sway bar replacement bushings as they have the grease zerks where the original GM do not.
Just bought the NAPA ones this morning. I really belive that a lot of the "front clunking noises" that are complained about are really the end links. Whole steering colums, intermediate shafts and 1/2 shafts have been replaced and the clunk is still there.

And No fr end clunks on mine either..

again with the front end noise
Sway bar bushings, AGAIN, this time. Dealer has replaced sway bar links, struts, strut mounts and bearings, links, bushings, lower control arms, and a head!
I have 3 other cars over 120k, not one of them has front end issues. I fail to understand why GM can't fix this problem.
BTW, most of the Moog sway bar links ARE greaseable, I have not put these on the HHR yet, so I don't know for sure, but the website says they are, I think.

Here are some images from someone who has replaced them
" I recently replaced my stock squeaky sway bar end links with MOOG #K750012 end links with zerk fittings. The new links are much quieter and have tighened up the feel of the steering."
Here's the stock end links, you'll need to jack up the front end and remove the wheel to get to this part. The green arrows point to the two bolts that will need to be removed. The outside one is easy to get to, the inside one is not too difficult to reach.
If by chance the nut spins there is a small area on the inside face of the link where you can get a grip on the bolt. On the new end links this piece is a full size nut that is much easier to work with.
Both end links side by side. The MOOG is a larger diameter bar than the stocker. Note the 90 degree zerk fittings, once the end links are installed you may need to rotate them a quarter turn or so to reach them better with your grease gun.
Here's the installed end links, be sure to remember to grease them up before your test drive.

I am under warrenty also but dealer can not find the problem they keep telling me that the noise I hear is a normal HHR noise. I told them BS so I just went out and biught a pair of the moog parts and will put them on soon then take the old ones to dealer and show them.

still owe to much on it or I would. I work for GM and I get a good deal on cars but the trade in value on the HHR is bad so I will just do the work and keep the car. I love the car but the dealerships for GM really suck. Will let you all know if this fixes my problem the parts will be at house friday and I will install them I hope saturday or sunday

Pretty sad for them to say **** like that, and they wonder why they have money problems. If I wanted a rattle trap, I would go buy another 4th generation camaro. I payed 15k for a car that shouldn't have "just hhr noises". Luckily mine doesn't. I always preach that if you wanted a BMW, should have payed for one and not expected your 15k chevrolet to be like one. But giving me an excuse like "thats just how HHR's are" I would have handed them the keys back.
