Will a guitar fit?

Will a guitar fit?
I really like the HHR, but I'm wondering if a guitar will fit behind the rear seats without flipping them down? It's hard to find the dimensions behind those seats. I assume that one would fit if I set it in at an angle.
Any thoughts? There are about 4 certified used HHRs at the dealer down the road.
Thanks!
Chris

Guitar will fit
Hi,
My husband and 10 year old son both play guitar. Recently we went to my son's recital and took both instruments. They did fit, it was tight, but we had to lean them up against the back of the rear seat headrests. I realize this could be dangerous in a sudden stop, but you do your best!
We are going on vacation in a week and my husband wants to bring the guitar. Unfortunately I can't see it fitting along with the luggage.

Why not take the guitar with you and go check out the HHRs and see if your comfortable with the fit for your guitar.

I can fit my Strat, Les Paul, and 2x10 combo amp back there no problem with the guitars in hardshell cases. Best thing to do is raise the cargo shelf to the second rail and put your gear under it--then in case of a collision your gear won't turn into a missle!
A Marshall 4x12 cab will fit laying on it's back, but you'll need the seat folded down :)

The salesman I bought my HHR from said he had a string bass player bring his bass in to see if it would fit. He had to put down the front passenger seat, but it did fit. He said a drummer also brought his drum kit in to see if it would fit.

My Les Paul will fit as long as you rest the end of it on the window ledge. But fold the rear seats down and there is a lot of room. I use my HHR to haul our band equipment to gigs all the time it works great. I can't get everything in there but you will be pleasantly suprised at how much you can get in an HHR. I need to take a picture next time its pretty cool.
