I really like what you did, but why did you opt for a functional scoop in the middle of the hood? I know you would have to have cut the hood frame member to center it over the air-box but IMO it would have functioned better, asthetics aside, it appears to me that you are mixing engine air with outside air? throw any codes yet?

No codes , runs perfect. As far as off setting the scoop, IMHO it would look like s-it. To me it would make more sense to direct the air to the box, it is not that far off, as half of the scoop is over the air filter.

Talking

Everybodys got great ideas about this mod, And i appretiate it. Some cheap, some pricey.
I have less than $ 300.00 dollars total in mods to my SS, probally more like $ 200.00 ( some paints , some custom cut decaling, free short shifter , $15.00 hood scoop (custom) Mostly a lot of detail work and sweat.

But i can tell you this mod has increased performance, sound, it runs cooler , And i don,t have to listen to all the banter about the plastic stick on scoop.

Have a great weekend everyone !!!!

Not my type of thing, but you are right the vehicle does not care. It is an inanimate object, it does not care if it gets door dings, paint chips, slots or holes drilled into it. The only thing anal about a vehicle is the driver.

While moving I think you’ll do Ok with the rain & snow, as a lot of it will be directed over the air filter box. What moisture does get on the filter will only partially cover it and then be heated by the engine and evaporate – hopefully.

Keep us informed on the final process. I would like to do the same thing. Did you build the scoop yourself or by it?
