GM stage kit for 08 why not for 09 worked

why not install GM stage kit on a 09, both years have the same engine, trans and ecm, i think during testing and date release of the kit, printed material was before 09 car were sold, thinking about a getting a kit for my 09, anyone have proven techincal reasons why not or harm installing on a 09

I would say the ECM is going to be a tad different. I'm sure it won't be long and it will happen. Like 1 month.

since its not a C.A.R.B. certified part for the 09( read that somewhere that it was pending? Paperwork wasn't finalized?) I would say your not covered under warrenty if something should go wrong. And they will have records WHEN it was installed because of the flash and work order. Guys, right?wrong?

Well, would it be a technical reason that when the technician took the code from your kit paperwork to download the new flash program, and it asked him for the serial number of the car, which is necessary to get the actual program, you have an unsupported 09? You not going to get the program. The actual program is always a bit different year to year, and the changes are included in whatever year program its working with. Things change from year to year, even subtle changes like a different model of sensor, or a different injector size. Lots of things change.
Even guys who do alot of tuning do NOT just swap programs year to year, but compare certain areas of the program and copy that part into there own cars program.
You could have a tuner guy copy the special parts of the turbo upgrade program into your cars program, IF the 09 is supported by HP tuners already. But you would not have a warranty, which is the bonus of the GM upgrade.

The dealer can not download the calibration for an '09 because the '09's are not emission certified yet. The '09's have different software and calibration than the '08's. The differences are very minor but affect the emission certification.

Do you have any kind of an idea of when the kit will become available for us '09ers? I'm hoping it's early 1st quarter.(I need a kneeling while praying smiley)
