the dealer must install it in order to retain the warranty usually costs between 150 and 200

Not just for the warranty, the dealer must do the flash....

Yep GM has the flash.

The instructions say you can install it yourself and use care to drive it to the dealer to get it flashed.

Note if you install it the parts are included but if you make a poor or wrong connections it is on you.

Think of the dealer install as insurance if something goes wrong.

When I needed my intercooler shimed out it was on them to remove the bumper and space it at no extra cost. I could have done it but it was their issue.

I installed it and flashed it myself. Warranty is still valid, just no warranty on the installation. That's cool, I know it's done right.

I would recommend that they solder the wire connections.. Lots of people having trouble with the kit install and soldering the wires makes a huge difference.

I have been considering an upgrade (currently stock). do you have a side by side comparison between the stage 1 and the trifecta? I have also heard a lot of autotrans owners rave about the extra 60hp. My 5 spd will not see as big an increase with the stage 1. Any manual owners happy with the stage 1? Just looking for info.
