Hopefully they will have a version for the Automatic based HHR SS that will be reasonably priced. Even something as a simple "tune" to reflash without any other mods would be awesome. We just hope to hear something soon so we know what to ask for Christmas!

I had a guy tell me he knew a guy who said that the turbo upgrade will give 300 horsepower to all SS's because it will be a small jet turbine engine that will mount where the existing tail pipe is and it will be safe for both transmissions because it will not put any power through the tranny because it will provide power through jet thrust. The only drawback is that you wont have reverse and the car will require JP-5 fuel. I also heard that it will have thrust vectoring to increase handling through the mach 9 turns.

Additionally I heard that thiss will all be under 19.99 and can be bought on e-bay from the same guy who sells the tornado thingy since he will be the only authorized dealer through GM.

I cant wait.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Fuel pumps also need to supposrt the power levels. Im sure a nice 255gph would be a great idea for pump upgrades and for future HP levels.

Have you not known about the needs in those areas?
I am aware of the limitations of both the manual and auto transmissions. It seems unlikely to mee that a "stage kit" that advertises a power increase would include transmission parts (such as????) since that wouldn't actually increase power.

As for needing more fuel... you need to do some research on how the ECO handles its fuel pressure needs. At max load, the chain-driven pump can EASILY produce 1800psi. As ADM says... "Walbro wishes it could make the flow we have."

Just a ChevyMgr is, I too am enjoying the wild (and I mean WILD when people start talking about transmission changes) speculation. It's going to be a flash to the computer, and maybe a hard part or 2 so the buyer feels like they got something for their money.

I heard the same thing from my sisters husband's best friends cousin's father in law's second cousin twice removed.

So it must be real

Yeah, I don't think a stage upgrade would include transmission work. Opening up and beefing up parts on the tranny would cost big bucks (close to $1000 as a guess).

Ditto on the earlier post for the auto trans - if 260 goes to 290, does 235 go to 265? Or...to 290 as well? If it could jump to 290 as well and be equal to the manual, I'd drop the money immediately. (Well past the point of wishing I would have just got the stick and learned to drive the damn thing.) Looking forward to any news...

McCain and Obama, both support an upgrade for the SS, but only if they don't have to bail out Chevy, for making shady investments overseas.....oh wait, my car was made in Mexico.. too late

wouldn't it be easier to take the SS body and stick it on a corvette frame, than having to guess what and when Chevy will release a "tune". I really wouldn't be suprised if Chevy got a HRC Tune and retarded it a little for their own needs....
