LNF Adjustable Launch Control by Trifecta
Quote from Vince:
Give me a couple days of lousy weather and it's amazing what can happen. Lol
Another Trifecta first, we can now adjust the launch control RPM feature of the LNF (in the Cobalt SS and HHR SS - not tested on the Roadster yet)! Launch control is actual a complex interaction across the in-vehicle network involving several different modules. We came up with a way to change the launch control RPM by reprogramming the ECM only.
Right now we can reprogram the launch control RPM in the flash. Phase 2 will be to make it user adjustable, but we figure this is a great first step. The stock setting is 4500 RPM, but can be raised or lowered to any RPM.
Users of the TF layer flash can take advantage of this feature also. We repurposed the Park/Neutral rev limiter cell in the rev limiter table to be the launch control RPM so you can use your tuning software to make the change yourself.
One catch is that for the period of time launch control is active (when COMPETITION MODE is selected AND the vehicle is stationary) the tachometer won't read accurately, but as soon as the vehicle starts moving, the tachometer will return to normal reading. It's not ideal but we figure this is a small price to pay to have adjustability with launch control.
We may look into giving the user the ability to adjust the launch control setting with EZ Flash, also.
