Sorry to hear that they won't install the stage 1, but thanks for the heads up. I live in Tehachapi and will look for another dealer when I decide to get one. How about the chevy dealer in Valencia? I took mine in there for an oil change and they seemed vary Knowledgeable. And I know they sold quite a few SS's.

 

I'd rather have them tell me up front they don't want to do the install rather than f-ing it up for three days.

I took it to richland chevrolet in shafter , I bought a truck there in 07 , three way chevrolet is just a few blocks from my house and I spent 45k there last year but have not been able to get good service there , they have a good guy in parts that takes care of me and I like. first off they said that they would install it but wanted me to write a blank check and let them do it, they wanted me to sign a open ticket with no estimate, I told them I dinnt like that , so the guy says it will start with 2 hours and go from there, so I still went ahead and left my car there and they called me back in 2 hours and said that they werent going to install any hp gm parts, so I asked the guy , why did you sell it to me then, then I asked what I was supposed to do with 600 dollars worth of non returnable parts.I was pretty pissed what happened to service what you sell. so I got the keys to my car started it and turned the traction control off , yea baby I did it, left them standing in the worst cloud of noxious smoke I could muster indoors, and belive me it was nasty. so anyhoo I went to shafter 20 miles away and the service mgr looked the instructions over and said 264 dollars. so the car is there and I will have it back tomorrow at the latest. I thought 264 was a little high but I really didnt want to get further out of town. so tomorrow I will post a performance report.

 

The dealer where I bought my HHR which is also listed as a GMPP dealer also refused to install mine. They said it was "scary." I did find 1 in the area that had no hesitation about installing it, though, just call some of the other dealers in your area, look for 1 that is confident. It's not rocket science, it's 2 sensors, some wire splices, and a ECU flash!

 

Won't install it??!! Wow, my dealer called the week he found out to let me know it was available. I would certainly never go back to your dealer for any vehicle or parts again!

 

belive me I will never go back to THREE WAY CHEVROLET IN BAKERSFIELD AGAIN. I spent 45 k with them last year , but not this year or any year, Ive spent 100k with gm in the last 18 mos and I think they would treat me better than this, the truck I bought from three way has had check engine light problems from week 1 its been in for a fuel pump relay and a fuel pump the first week I had it . gm would tow my truck but not my trailer , they wanted to leave it in the intersection where it broke down , lucky enough I was here in town. it been back in 3 more times for problems with service engine light , something different every time, also the light has been on atleast 8 other times, if I wait long enough it will go back off. they tried to charge me a 2hr mininum for looking at a warranty issue with one of the tires, when I protested they said it was a mistake. I like the dealer in shafter they always offer me a loaner on warranty issues (with gas) but its kind of a hassle going out there when I should be able to do it a few blocks away. I own and run my own business and always seem to not have time to deal with stuff, I need to have reliable equipment, thats why I always buy new , having a warranty is great but not if its in the shop 5 days a month. I have been true blue and gm my whole life but the last year really has me rethinking. and everytime I get treated like I did today gets me thinking more. I just cant stand to look at a toyota.
