Most dealerships and oil change places will still say 5,000 miles. But, according to that book that lives in your glove compartment, that the newer synthetic oils in our cars can go for 10,000 miles. Read the OWNERS MANUAL!

I let the Oil Life Meter run down to between 33% and 25%... which is about 5000 miles for me. Going down to less than 25% worries me. I would never dream of letting it get down to 10%.

I do 6000 miles because I rotate the tires at the same time. The computer usually says 20-25%

Ok, so my truck leaks oil a little bit... After it's time to change the oil, it could be up to a quart low... If I were to run it with a quart low, would that hurt? I usually top it off now and again, but I was just wondering if it would hurt anything to be a quart too low?

I had the flu so bad one time that I went to the hospital.
I was hurting so bad I was afraid I wasn't gonna die.
They pumped a couple of quarts of 9% NaCl or dextrose water or something into my arm and I felt almost human again.

Your truck will like the right amount of oil better than not enough.
Don't know if it'll hurt it to run low but just keep up with it.

Dealer told me not to worry since it is the synthetic for the SS model. Tech said that even the Vettes can go longer. I usually do it at 25-30%, which seems to be about 7500 miles.

$89.99 at 7500 miles or $34.99 every 3-5000 miles..... They make there money no matter how much you show up :) I've done mine since the first free one, when i found out what the charge next time would be. Only costs about $38-42 for proper mobil 1 synth and a good filter! How do they justify the 89.99? Cause you show up less to gouge :)

Where the hell do you buy your M1 at? I just did mine recently, 5qts M1&filter were only $27.

I'd shop around some.
