Believe it , or not, the stock HHR SS 'cat-back', is a very good, free-flowing,
exhaust system.
The stock resonator is 'fiber-filled', 2.5", with straight-baffled tubing, for maximum flow.
The stock muffler is also similar, 'fiber-filled', with an increase in the 'baffled'
tubing size, to 2.75", and is basically a 'straight-thru' muffler, with just a 'gentle-curve', inside, with the tubing.
Any change that you make to the stock 'cat-back', will really be for your personal 'taste', & 'sound', preference.
I have yet to find any 'power', with any changes, to the stock 'cat-back'.
Power, torque, & a more 'free-flowing exhaust system, can be had, by properly 'coring', the 2nd 'cat'.
The 2nd 'cat' is the only 'restriction, with the HHR SS exhaust system.
Search for 'threads/posts', that I have made, about properly, 'coring', the
2nd cat.
'Coring' the 2nd 'cat', will not make your exhaust system, any 'louder', it will just remove, the only 'restriction', in our exhaust system, but it will give your HHR SS, more power/torque...

I'm currently running a stock automatic 08 SS with just a muffler delete. My ZZP resonator comes in today. Next week I'll have it installed and I'll post a vid on you YouTube. Let's see how much of a diffrence it makes.

here is a video driving other back roads east of the Dragon on Saturday
under 75 it isnt loud and normal driving. after 75 and faster it gets louder but i like that. it sounds like a rally car driving it fast and foot in the throttle
