HHr SS mileage

I just took a trip from Cleveland to Cincinnati to Pittsburgh and back to cleveland. Probably 750+ miles, on the extended highway- 34-36, 25-28 in the city epending on how I drive. I don't drive it like I stole it. But occasionally put my foot down.

I have +/-2500 miles on my SS and travel 100 miles round trip to work - mix of rush hour expressway and 2 lane roads. Week after week, I have been averaging 28-30mpg which includes my weekend in town driving. This morning, I managed to hit all the lights green and little traffic and was able to clock just under 33 pulling into the parking lot. I got rid of a Crown Vic Ford for the SS and have not looked back yet.

My 5 speed is averaging 24 mpg on my daily commute. I did a 1700 trip with alot of mixed road types and I got 26.9.....driving a bit aggressively sometimes.

22-23 City haven't really taken it on the open highway for a full tank to see what it can do for me.

Instant MPG states anywhere from 30-40 mpg on the highway.

Just checked my first tank probably 70/30, highway/city and got 29mpg. Works for me. Was averaging 18-20 with my old Blazer Xtreme

After about 3 weeks of ownership and 650Miles my HHR SS says an average of 23MPG and I am only on my 2nd tank of gas. I have yet to bring it on the highway but I suspect it to be in the neighborhood of 25 - 26MPG overall between city and highway driving. That is much better than my S10 SS got which was about 16 - 18MPG average.
