very disapointed in performance

I have a stage kit w/24lbs boost, but cannot get very good performance at tha track, I have been to test and tune nights 3 times with very poor results Ive had total 10 runs with 1 totaling the tranny, but thats another story, but basicly it runs a 15 flat with my fasteset time , my last run in cool air after cooldown was a 14.6 and beat a 350z only because I treed him on the light, I won 2 races this way last time out , I beat a honda , Im not sure what model but it was new, I ran a 15.1 he ran a 14.97 but I beat him to the other end, most of my lights are in the .100 range with a few under .050, . it kills me not to run better espically all of the hype I hear here and from gm, my friend has a new cobalt w/same drive train and no stage kit and he runs 14.5s, I belive my car should be running low 14s or high 13s , it burns my ass not to be able to run with or beat newer mustangs, I am a decent driver with most all of my runs within a tenth of each other except the 14.6 but the conditions were quite different. I drove it like I stole it on a 100 mile windy country road last w/e and had a blast , it will do 140 but I think it should 160 with stage GM claims 150 stock. there was a guy at the drags in test and tune with a new 3/4 ton ford 4wd diesel and it was running 12.20s that sob was bad fast for a 8000lb truck, he had twin turbos w/nitrous. I notice that in the stock street classes at the drags you have to run in the mid to low 13s to be special , then you can run w/the mustangs,z cars/bmw,mercedes,trans am's,and camaros, if you can run in this catagory eyebrows will raise and they will take a second look at the little station wagon grocery getter. I dont run in competition we just run in the friday nite test and tune catagory.

Something is up as you should be in the low 14s or better depending on altitude.

elevation is 300 ft and I have a 5 sp., I would like to get to a dyno and see what kind of numbers I put up. its really bothering me , stock hondas with 200 hp run 15 flat, there was a stock 6cyl ranger running 16.20s, its embaresing to run 15s in a SS . I have run as high as 15.6, traction is obviously a problem in theese cars , but thats not whats going on here. the heat is somewhat of a problem here but we dont start running until 8 pm by then its usually in the high 80s to low 90s, my last run was run in the high 70s, but at 85 degrees I run a consistent 15 flat. that sucks

Maybe you need a solid engine mount to firm up the engine/tranny to the frame, a lot of flex comes from the stock mount...

Try running your car over to the coast and see if performance improves. The heat and the heatsoak of the engine bay might be the culprit for slower times. You might be surprised how well it runs when the outside temps are in the 70s.

They don't call it BAKERSfield for nothing, right?

Just a thought but I'm reading more and more stories on here and other forums about loss of power when the summertime temps hit. You are already aware that colder air = denser air, denser air = more power.

What was the MPH.. I just couldn't hook up worth nothing. I didn't even break 14.9 stock. But the MPH is a solid low 14 second mph with proper 60 ft time

I'm having the same issues as you it seems but it was my first time and my best time was 15.0 I also have 5spd LSD. One race I lost boost for some reason. My gauge dropped to 0 and when I realized what was going on I lifted of the gas pedal and engaged it again and my boost went back up to normal.

I know I'm having issues with my starting, I keep dropping the clutch I think to fast so I lose traction. I just think I need more practice.
