Mine does that too. Took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. On my way home from the dealer my wife's cousin was following and told me that when I hit the gas on the freeway a bunch of black smoke came out of the exhaust. Not sure what's up with that or if it is normal as I don't follow myself too often! lol

Interestingly enough, taking my SS for an irresistable spin today I left my driveway a little too ambitiously (heavy pedalling) so as not to get stuck behind a Honda minivan whereas the coolant temp was only around 140 to 150F and noticed a puff of black smoke in the rr mirror. I usually wait until the temp is at least 185F or better. Comparing notes, was your engine still in warm up mode when you saw the carbon discharge?

Stage kit eliminates this.

I noted this issue when my Tmap was hitting the AC compressor when the stage kit was installed. The engine would pop the waste gate often at different PSI levels when it hit as the engine torqued over.

When the waste gate would pop it would make a black puff. My wife was behind me and would see it each time.

Could just be the wastegate with direct injection soot. Note the black in the tail pipe is from the DI system.

sometimes 15 PSI, usually 24 PSI - depending on conditions, speed, load, etc...

20-23 depending on load, temp and speed. I have seen 24 under the right conditions but not all the time.

That is why you get a digital and have bright red annunciator lights to come when it hits the sweet number.
