Red face 2.2 Air Cleaner Removal

Anyone know how to change the air cleaner? The manual says the entire assembly comes off and then there are screws holding it together. I can't figure out how to remove the housing from the engine and don't want to force it.
As well, does anyone think a K&N filter is worth the money?

Thanks!

And here's one vote for tht K&N filter. Changed over to one at about 20K.

Man, I used to replace my air filters by twisting off one wing nut

If you go the K&N route just don't over oil it! It will foul up the MAF sensor if you do.

I went with the K&N in my stock box.....seems a little peppier. Air box is held on by 3 gromments , put a little water proof grease in the eyelets when you put it back together, makes it easier to pull box next time.
