The picture shown as the sensor, doesn't match the install instructions pics.

If its an modified adapter spacer as shown on the install pics then installing the mass sensor. I can only see it providing some more air flow , due to the stock mass sensor blocking some air..

Lets see some dynos, and an actual part/s pics...

it looks identical to the stock part. on my 98 truck i put a jet maf on it because the stock one had a buttload of honeycomb aluminum in it and that restricted alot and the jet had none of that. this jet maf looks just like the stock maf to me.

Actually the stock 3" MAFs found on most of the V8s flow enough air for over 450hp. I'm not a big fan of removing the honeycomb simply because it helps straighten the airflow over the sensor. Many tuners won't touch a car with a descreened MAF. Not sure if your truck would have had the 3" or 2.5" MAF though. Still, even the 2.5" probably isn't a restriction of any significance on a stock or bolt-on '98 350 truck motor.

And the same goes for the 2.2L Ecotec MAF sensor. I cannot imagine, as well done as the intake is on these motors stock, that the MAF sensor causes enough restriction to actually cost you HP on a <150hp engine.

I'm going to say the same thing I'd say to an LS1 owner...don't waste your money on aftermarket MAF sensors until you've started into internal engine mods, power adders, etc.

This topic has been discussed alot over on FSC.com, aftermarket MAF's are a joke. Almost everyone that ran one of the Granatelli MAF's on a otherwise stock truck ended up having SES codes and poor drivability issues. For the price, there was little to no performance increase, plus the added hassle of throwing codes constantly wasn't worth it.
