Crank pulley questions
Does any one know what all is ran off of the crank pulley? Air conditioner, Alternator and anything else? I saw a picture of the 2.2 and it looked like there was only air conditioner and alternator. No smog pump, water pump? Is the water pump direct drive?
Reason I am asking is I will probably put an underdrive pulley on soon and what to know what all it will effect.
Thanks, Curly

If it only runs the A/C and alterator
If it only runs the A/C and the alternator then it definatly reduces the gains possible and the value of the system.
On some vehicles that have a lot running off of the crank and underdrive pulley can be a help.

I agree that lightweight non-damped pullies are to be avoided.
Lower cranksahft mass will NOT result in a smoother idle, while not noticeable to all people a lighter rotating mass will result in more erratic idle. Take the blade off your lawnmower and see how it runs.....youll see my point, the same is true of the ECO.
Getting rid of the damper is yet another much more real issue, its just a straight up bad idea.
Lightweight pullies look good and make our mod list longer and your wallet thinner, thats the long and short of it

Ecotec is internally balanced and does not use a damper/balancer pulley. HP gain is not much, a LW pulley was my sons first mod on his cobalt and we dyno his car at work and picked up close to 3hp. He has close to 21,000 with this pulley installed and has had no problems.
