I think Cherry Bomb mufflers are just glass packed straight thru designs. I don't know if IMCO makes that style or not. The Turbos do have a baffle in them. You can check out all the IMCO products at:

Don't buy a Cherry Bomb - it is not even the same design as the IMCO.

Shop around and find a T-909 for your 2.2L, you will be glad you did.

While IMCO does make glass packs (like the cherry bombs), they are not the same company. In fact, that is not the style of muffler you want. The IMCO T-909 Turbo-style muffler is the one to get for the 2.2L

From their site:

The Turbo Series is an all-aluminized, double-wrapped, two-baffle, two fully perforated cores, performance muffler. This muffler is for the enthusiast looking for more power but not wanting the sound of the all-welded muffler.

IMCO makes their own mufflers (about 8,000 per day!). They are one of the largest muffler companies in the US, with hundreds of styles of replacement mufflers. You can visit their site HERE.

guess what everyone..i got on cherrybomb web site and imco web site..looked the same so i e-mailed cherrybomb and imco sites and they both said they are same company.imco and cherrybomb is same company..they also informed me that the turbo cherrybombs is only bafflered inside[NO FIBERGLASS PACKING]same as imco's.they did state that the cherrybomb may be a little louder due to they are a inch shorter cases but only would be louder under a hard loud.JFYI

Interesting find! But since I already have a T-909 Turbo on our 2.2 LS I wouldn't have any reason to change it over. Evidently a "Cherry Bomb" and a "Glasspack" aren't the same thing, as I've always thought!
