Throttle response

Hi all, does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the throttle on HHRs? I have an 06 w/ 2.2 and it seems I have to put my foot down about 1" before I get a response from the throttle. I checked under the hood and found that it looks like an electrical signal, not a cable linkage to the throttle. I like a very touchy throttle and mine feels sloppy to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No way to shade tree it, its an electronic throttle control (ETC). A pot on the accelerator measures pedal angle and tells the TAC and PCM, which then direct an electric motor to open the throttle the right amount. ETC also uses transmission shift patterns and traction at the drive wheels, among other data, to determine how far to open the throttle.

Time for a trip to the dealer service dept. if its causing a problem.

What kind of car did you have before you got a 2.2l HHR?
Not exactly a dragster...
Sounds like you`re going half way to the floor (1in.), could be your expectations or the computer has to get a signal.

I have the same or had the same problem. However mine seems to have adapted to my driving style is becoming less of a problem. Or im adapating to it one of the two.

From my limited knowledge it's not adjustable on an '06 2.2 as the computer is not able to be programmed as of this time. The '06+ 2.4's and the '07 2.2's are programmable and throttle response is improved. Had mine done by one of our supporting vendors, Tune Time Performance, and it took a while before my wife was able to stop spinning the wheels in our driveway!!
