What is the best performance mod to put in my 2.2L HHR that won't void my warranty

in my opinion, whatever increases the appearance of your ride. you have a economy car - you're not gonna get too much power out of it. though exhausts can give your car a great sound and the right intake can make your engine bay look better (less clutter). GMPP products will not void your warranty.

Best mod is to trade it for an SS model. Outside of that furious has given you the best advice. Go Clemson.

well you also have a high performance ECOTEC HO INTAKE MANIFOLD also a cold air intake and im sure a machine shop can make you a throttle body spacer and JET chips is suppose to make a chip for the 2.2 as far as spending money to buy an SS id rather keep my 2,2 LS 5 spd cheeper insurance too

IMHO telling him to only go for cosmetic upgrades is crazy. He asked about performance. Appearance mods (usually) do nothing to performance except decrease it.

OP: Your best basic upgrade is performance tires. Because they are your contact with the road, good tires will help braking, acceleration and handling. Since you seem to live in CA you wont have to deal with swappimg between snows and summers. So do some research and find a good agressive tire. Otherwise give us an idea of what type of "performance mod" you want (i.e. handling, braking, acceleration, etc). Good luck!

in response to gildoht:
I was referring more towards performance as in increase in horsepower from the engine, which in my opinion is still silly - you're not gonna get a good return for the investment.
But I do agree with you that enhancing braking and suspension is generally a great idea.

A Good CAI & Nice Big Cat Back Is About All We Get... A Header Will Net A few More. Maybe Pulley's, Maybe A Stage Clutch, Maybe You Take Out Your Spare Tire And Back Seat, hahahaaa. There Is Not Much Out There Yet....

There Is A 2.4 Intake Swap.... But Not Worth The Money In My Opinion...

-Good Luck

This is my first post & wanted to mention I have a panel LS w/a2.2 it seems pretty peppy & has enough power f/me,I am not going to do anything to mine I think it rides nice,is fast enough & stops good enough for me.
I have had a few race cars in the past & didn't buy this car for that purpose.
More power is always nice to have but you'll probaly get less gas mileage & I bought mine for the mileage.
