Any differences ?

I see the 2008 HHRs' have 2 different engine option codes for the 2.4 ??

LE9 = 2.4 (in the wagons)

&

LE5 = 2.4 High Output (in the Panels)

Anyone know why ?, or if there are any differences ?

The same motor. For what ever reason, they list the 2.4 as a HO motor.

I believe the difference is flex fuel.

So which one is designated as HO and why? I have never seen the HO used on an Ecotech....

All the major parts are the same.It's got to boil down to a management system calibration difference for the flex fuel variant.Why call one an H.O.? Probably some marketing twit's brain fart.

Because they can I guess. These are differences that are ponderous to some people, but have no useful value to me in my daily work. We use these codes to get the correct part only.

Maybe this thread will either help everyone or confuse everyone more:

ChevyMgr-

Thank You.

The link provides very interesting info on the development of the 2.4L

Actually, I'm impressed by all the R&D that went into it, & it's marine use as well..

Forged rods & & stroker crank, just to name a few goodies in them..

And it's built here in TN..@ Spring Hill. "the Global 4 cylinders"
