Back to stock intake. Bye bye CGs.......

Got real tired of adjusting and re adjusting the CGS intake and assorted filters that just do not fit Iron Man properly. I know I would win if I keep fighting, but I have other things to do I grew tired of the blasted noise too.
I could buy yet another filter, but am cutting my losses.

At first it was not bad, but now that I put the stock intake back on, I can hear my signals again. I did not know what I was missing.

I like quiet in my cars. Perhaps I will now lose a little MPG and be unhappy about that, but I have nerve damage real bad in one ear and extraneous sound sometimes shut me down in bad ways. When I drive my convertible I usually wear earplugs these days

Anyway, I have a grocery getter and can live with that. The SS is coming out for those who want real performance.

So first the Imco came off ( after three days, I hated the sound )and finally the CGS.

I tried, I failed, I payed to play and went back to stock. It works for me, Other's like the add-ons and have a great time with them. As the cliché goes,
"It's all good!"

Now to wrap both up and get ready to send them to the guy who will email me in a few moments once he sees this post.
I see you are on now.....you know who you are.......

Actually I'm at work now. I just picked up some puffies to packthe CGS and Imco in.

You could try removing the stock air filter from inside the air box and replace it with a cone filter on the intake to the box. I bought mine from Pepboy's for about $10. It doesn't seem to add much if any noise and definitely allows the engine to breathe better. Between that and my canister muffler I am getting 40-43 MPG on the highway.

Just a thought for ya...

Thanks for the tip! When it comes time to change the filter, I'll look into it. Better aspirating is, well better The cone fits in the wind hose?

I think the IMCO and some others are generally called canister mufflers.

You could also just switch to a K&N oem replacement.
