Got me in the wrong forum now. I dont have a 2.4 or a k&n. Howvever i have the airaid and mine does the same thing. Kind of bogs down till 3k rpms like you said, especially with the a/c on. Intake does good from a rolling start around 30-45. Just my opinion with the intake.

I think if we saw a dyno graph on this set-up, there would be a very noticable dip on the bottom end, which I know the oem set-up doesn't have..

Just sayin...

Agree with that.

80K miles on this particular one (I clean every 50k miles), no codes with it and never had a code with any K&N I've ran. Common sence has a lot to do with this. The K&N instructions state "Do Not Overoil". If you pull one out of the box and it's dripping, it's overoiled and that needs to be taken care of. Every manufacture out there makes mistakes, and I think we can all agree on that. The case of one out of the box overoiled is rare, or K&N would have been out of business years ago.

Now, if you clean yours and overoil, that's on you.....

You can definitely feel the dip on the bottom end, but it makes up for it on the top end. Like swerv said, once you get it rev'd up to about 3k this thing comes to life. I think the HP difference is probably minimum to none but for $110 with a new filter and I don't have to mess with it again for pretty much the life of the car, it was well worth it to me.

I'm new to this 2.4 game but I put the K&N in and the next day, Trifecta, and mine sure doesn't have a bog. It won't catch the short bus,but it runs great. There are lots of cars that cant catch the short bus. Like a 2000s,.....

I'm sure the tune takes care of the low end bog. My wagon will still light up the fronts on take off so it's not a huge drop by any means.

thats what im dealing with now......5th time engine is almost stalling and sometimes throws the CEL. I replaced the K&N with a stock air filter and cleaned the MAF. So lets see how this goes now, lol
