Disappointed with K&N intake
#21
Got me in the wrong forum now. I dont have a 2.4 or a k&n. Howvever i have the airaid and mine does the same thing. Kind of bogs down till 3k rpms like you said, especially with the a/c on. Intake does good from a rolling start around 30-45. Just my opinion with the intake.

Now, if you clean yours and overoil, that's on you.....

You can definitely feel the dip on the bottom end, but it makes up for it on the top end. Like swerv said, once you get it rev'd up to about 3k this thing comes to life. I think the HP difference is probably minimum to none but for $110 with a new filter and I don't have to mess with it again for pretty much the life of the car, it was well worth it to me.

I'm new to this 2.4 game but I put the K&N in and the next day, Trifecta, and mine sure doesn't have a bog. It won't catch the short bus,but it runs great. There are lots of cars that cant catch the short bus. Like a 2000s,.....

I'm sure the tune takes care of the low end bog. My wagon will still light up the fronts on take off so it's not a huge drop by any means.

Good question, maybe they copied a GMPP intake without realizing that condensation in a plastic intake is not too likely. I've not been that impressed with K&N stuff over the years, especially the habit of shipping "over oiled" filters which go straight from the box onto the engine, followed shortly thereafter by the codes set as the MAF sensor goes bonkers from getting "lubed".
