Flat spot at around 4000 rpm

Flat spot at around 4000 rpm
I have what feels like a flat spot at approx. 4000 rpm. I usually notice it when I'm merging onto the freeway. I hit the gas a little hard but nothing crazy. Is this a common thing? It's not drastic but I definately can feel it. I have an 08 LT in case that helps.
