Update
Ok I talked to my gm rep. and gm has not given any specs. yet. They are worried if they say x amount of hp and you don't get that on your vehicle that it could cause legal issues. (bait and switch) but my rep has an hhr and I trying to tlk him into getting one and getting it dynoed. will keep every one posted.

You think each vehicle out there gets the "up to 26 HP with a K&N FIPKII". No one vehicle got that number. That's why the "up to" can be used. For this, use facts since it's for one vehicle.

Call me stupid, but I still don't get it. If an engine needs a certain amount of back pressure to perform at it's peak, it does not matter where it gets that pressure from. It could be from bends in the pipe or resistance in a muffler, resonator, or cat convertor. The bottom line is that too little or too much back pressure is not good for the Ecotech motor. That said, I have a lake pipe/cut out system on my car (y pipe before my IMCO) and I opened it up for the car show last night. And I swear that my car feels much stronger with it open. So perhaps the car would run better with a muffler that had less back pressure than the IMCO. And mine is beginning to rust. So I am looking forward to seeing more about the Chevy/Borla system. Besides, it looks to be bolt on so you would save on having it installed by a muffler shop (although I would still want to get a y pipe welded into it

Just think of this, what kind of muffler does a race or drag car run? Now you need a muffler for the street. The law says so. Don't always believe what you read online.Guess that includes my post also...
