GMPP exhaust on 2.4?
#21
FYI for everyone....
As for the muffler itself, years ago, before the SC, I put a straight through Magnaflow on the wagon. At that time I only had my tune. No other changes. Dyno showed absolutely no gain! Which made be take a cut off saw to the "turtle". There's a pic in my gallery. So, if anyone uses words such as "the restrictive stock muffler", get ready for a digital arse whuppin'!!
BOTTOM LINE: For the 2.4s the stock exhaust is plenty for anything other than a highly modified car. It just works! Anything else is money wasted or just noise!
The "Turtle gutted pic" Joe spoke of..

Well I'd always wondered what they looked like inside, and now I know, just hope ChevyMgr doesn't see that pic....he really likes Turtles and the shock might be too much for him.
Thanks for digging up the pic sleeper.

Muffler tour....
In that pic (thanks for posting it sleeper!), it is upside down. The top pipe is actually spot welded to the bottom. Inlet is on left; outlet on right. Sound deadening in the upper 1/2 above perforated plate. Bottom is an open chamber.
