Just a quick reminder about Mike (SoCal). First, he advocated for the IMCO long before he ever sold them. Also, he discovered that the Autolite plugs gave a huge power increase over the stock AC/Delco plugs and NEVER sold them. I believe he also offered the AirRaid intake, but I could be wrong.
Although I have not had my car to the track yet, I do have an Escort G Timer, and with my setup (tuned, IMCO, Autolite, and CGS) have done, under less than optimal conditions, a 15.9 quatermile. Not only does the car have a 'seat in the pants' faster feel, a mechanic from my dealer drove my car and was very impressed. And, the car lights up its tires much easier and longer than with the stock setup. That said, the car does feel quicker when I first start driving, before the engine compartment heats up, and in cooler weather. I am looking into relocating the filter to get cooler air.

I definitly felt the difference. And the proof for me is that my few simple mods created a car that impressed the Chevy mechanic that has driven many other HHR's, as well as the projected 15.9 ET which is much quicker than a stock HHR. I remember after I installed the plugs the car seemed much quicker. And it spun the tires much more readily, indicating more torque.

I rarely buy into power increase claims made about spark plugs. The stock plug is quite a good unit.
The one and ONLY way to backup these spark plug claims is back to back dyno pulls swapping plugs out and comparing. Until that is done and shown, I have to politely call bs on spark plug power claims.

I did not do any of my mods at the same time. Each was done one at a time. Changing the plugs was the first thing I did, and it definitly felt a lot faster. Next I did the intake in June, then several months later I did the exhaust (August). I didnt get the tune done until the following January. I did time the car with my Gtech and the car got quicker with each change. Nothing very scientific, thought, since it was done in different seasons and on different roads (anyplace I could get up to about 85 mph without any cops around).
I agree that the plug claim is hard to believe. But try it yourself and see.
