Rear Disc Brake Kit?
#11
I'd love some rear discs. Our drums a rusty and look stupid at best
I miss the days of rims and hubcaps. Remember them?
I dented rims and replaced them much cheaper than these alloy thingies. Though when I scraped the alloys on my SHO, I lived with the scrape for ten more years. Each day I'd get in the car ,look at the damage and be upset with myself. I guess I like punishment!!
Did the same to my HHR , but will be getting an extra set of factory wheels from another member here for a decent price.
But I digress.........
I'm thinking about painting the rear drums, but why bother. Winter is almost here in the Northeast and the salt will take the paint off I would imagine in an exposed area like the drums. Maybe I'm wrong. Would a decent drum paint job last or is it something one must repeat.........?
On the rear disc front. I'll wait for Mike at SoCal to come up with something before I make any moves. He comes through with stuff that really adds utility and style to our HHR. My favorites from him are the anti sway bar and the Australian window vents.
If I remember mike, you don't use TC and ABS, but compatibility in those areas for rear discs will be important for many of us. As our HHR is a family car, I think those features are useful on it. Still there are times ABS can make you wish you could turn it off
