Sounds great! Love the sound of a blower...makes me think about doing it to mine. I might be able to sell the wife on it to. She had a nasty super coupe when we met and wants something boosed again :)

You want to Race?..... If you Insist, at that Price I Can't Resist. That's Right.

Tonight it ain't right, I got to have me a wink, But, I'll be back for You jack and i'll let the Machine speak. That's Right.......

Showdown, you bet. And I haven't even saddled my pony yet...

Now on the day I was born... The nurses all gathered around, and they gazed in wide wonder at the joy they had found. The Head nurse spoke up, said, leave this one Alone. She could tell right away, That I was Bad To The Bone......

Cammed!

Hey guys I got around to the cams and springs I was talking about a little earlier than I thought. I ordered the ZZP 2.4l cam regrinds. Comp does the regrinds for them. I also got their 78# springs and retainers. Some pics:

Intake cam installed. Half way done.

Spring compressor. The Kent-Moore tool is awesome.

From the pics you can see I have been having a ton of fun with this dang HHR . This was my first spring and cam install and it took about 6 hours. The exhaust note is really good too. Throughout a bit deeper tone. Tuning and a few shorter drives have shown the fuel economy to only be down roughly 3% for dd. But that is not the impressive part. This thing has gobs of power up high now(right where I spend a lot of time ). The power band moved up about 500rpms, but the valve springs are allowing me to rev 7200rpm with no issue. I am really impressed with the power at about 4000rpm+. With the stock cams I had good punch at about 3k, but it would flatten out a bit around 6k+. I suspect it could have been a bit of valve float, but it seemed like more of a plateau than loss of hp. The new cams have great power at 4k+. This thing just hammers all the way to 7200 and now I am strongly considering balance shaft removal to spin higher because the power just doesn't feel like its falling off. I am also considering spending a couple bucks to throw it on a dyno even though I said I didn't want to just to make sure of this. I am going to try and get to the track sometime in the next month. I have never even been to one so I hope it'll be a kewl experience.
