Does anyone know what these little slots are in the rear cargo area? They look like some sort of vent, or like a speaker where the government can listen in on us... Oh wait, that'd be a microphone...



I think in my Dad's Tahoe there is something to do with the rear A/C heat blower and stuff, but our HHRs dont have that...

I'm just curious. Never noticed them before, but I was cleaning out the HHR from the Florida trip. Man, that sand is going to be in there for as long as I own the car!

 

Sand has a habit of doing that.

 

I believe they are part of the flow through ventilation

 

They are for ventilation to the electronics that are behind that plastic. My OnStar, Cellular & XM radio are in that location.

 

So in my car it's cooling and empty space

 

It is there to make people post questions on web sites. LOL!

Actually, they really are microphones, designed by GM to allow you to hear a tree falling in the woods, even though no-one is around to hear it.

 

Speed holes. Makes you go faster. Oh wait, they are MPG holes, make you get better MPG by making the car lighter.
