As Tom said, you can get the mesh material from Lowes or Home Depot.
And yes Dayton, I had to get creative with the dremel tool at the ends where I cut the bars. I was able to grind at an angle so the plastic is not showing.
I used a special carbide cut-off wheel for plastic to start with. Then had the best luck with the final grinding using a coarse sandpaper wheel on the dremmel tool. The plastic did not build up on wheel.
I also painted the mesh material with chrome paint to give it extra protection from the harsh winters we have here on Rochester.
Socal HHr's web site has a great how-to on doing this mod.
A chrome grille is definately more challenging to do than a painted grill.
Your grille looks awesome! But as far as a chrome one being easier? How do you figure, after you cut it up, the paint shows all mistakes. Not to mention all the wet sanding, painting, and clear coating. Just a thought, again yours looks sweet, I do not think that I would do it again LOL. Todd (Uma)

Mike-
My questions to you are:
1. Is that a custom bowtie overlay, or does that exist as a stock item someplace?
2. Do the authorities give you any grief over the "trimmed" license plate?

BTW...your grille modification looksgret as well!

My question is, How did you fill in the gaps where you cut out the bars? Todd(Uma)

1.Yes it is took my sign guy a good 3-4 hours to do good part now is there in his computer and I can get more.

2. So far so good most dealer plate frames cover the same area as long as you can see the numbers and province I can`t see a need to take it to court but I will if I have too.

Interesting. I think it looks great...but if we did something similar here in the states it would probably attract the attention of law enforcement... and not in a good way.
