Question 3rd Brake Light

I want to add a flasher unit and change the bulb to LED but I can't find out how to get into the assembly. I am afraid to just start pulling on the plastic without some advice. Thanks,
Papajim

Jim,

With the hatch open, grab the plastic that covers the 3rd BL. There are a few clips that hold this in. Once you locate them, pull STRAIGHT towards you and not downward. Once that is off, there are bolts that hold the assembly to the hatch. Also the electrical connector for the lamp needs to be undone. Not hard at all, just remember to 'feel' where the clips are. In the event that you break the clip, a little velcro works wonders and dont ask me how I know this. Ive taken it off several times.

question on your instructions, you say to pull straight towards you and not downward, but if the hat is open you would be under it and therefore pulling it downward?

I'm going to do an overlay on mine once it gets warmer and i have left risk to break cold plastic just i just wanted to clarify.

Ok technically I suppose this is really 'down' Since the hatch is open, pull it horizontally toward you. You 'feel' where the clips are and pull it loose from there.

Thanks for the info, have you had any experience with the LED's or the flasher unit?

Just be careful, I've had to remove mine four times and it ripped twice!
