Anything is possible, problem is I don't think there are any available that are a direct fit.

I know that another member has done this, and he never ever has yet to post anything on this site, lol, but I dont remember what all he said he had to do to retro fit an aftermarket shift knob to his shifter on his SS.

[IMG][/IMG]..with a small plunger at the bottom of any shifter knob(as long as u can mount it)anything will work..little allen screw in behing the chrome trim post..must be in neutral to do this..push down on the chrome piece to expose the screw..leaves ya a half inch o.d post with a little piece of plastic in the middle that will need to be depresed to make it work and be able to remove keys..no need for a spring..the accuator in the post already has one..take it apart..ull see what i mean..

Okay, Dustin. Here's my first post with pics no less. As you can see my SS is a Dale Sr. tribute that I put together myself. The shifter I bought at Autozone for about 20.00 bucks. I went with the Smith & Wesson knob for 2 reasons. First: Dale was an avid hunter and secondly: I love pistol grips As pyro stated, everything to actuate the shifting is still in place once the the original shift knob is removed. I drilled a hole through the handle and added a 1/4" length of aluminum rod through the top and then added a black rubber cap on the end of the rod for thumb comfort. The cap is the same as used to plug carb lines. I didn't have to make anything to hold the boot up. It stood up naturally against the bottom of the knob.
