aux lighting install ??'s

Okay I am wanting to add some lighting to my car, neon and leds inside and out. I was wondering where the best place would be to grab some power from. They will all be on a switch so I'm looking for constant power. As a trail I just hooked it to the battery jump lead under the hood and grounded it to the strut mount bolt where it shows a ground symbol. Would it be okay to leave hooked up at those points or coud it create a draw on the battery or mess with the comp somehow. Also in side I was going to use those piggyback fuses to link into the fusebox. Good idea or bad! What have you all done or suggest!! Thanks

I have the Street-glo multicolored leds underbody, I tapped in to the fusebox for power. I have not had any problems so far I used a product called add-a-fuse. I think there was some problems with using strut mount bolt in different threads and when I tested mine I used the bolt and did not work for me.
