Honest opinion.......the photoshopped version is very tacky.

Get some black wheels, lower it, paint the bow ties black, and tint the front windows.

Black is the sweetest color in the HHR family. 3 bar grille, lower, 18" chrome wheels, tint the windows, intake, exhaust, fog lights.

Lose the pin stripes, they will build up with wax. Keep everything body color and it just looks sweet, but they need to match paint wise, not just be the oem black plastic. Good luck with the HHR and let's see some pics along the way!

to be honest, to me the unmalested stock hhr looks better, Black is a very special color, and If it was mine I would get the stock chrome rims, and chrome handle's and mirrors...and call it a day. But I'm a minimalist. To me less is more! I almost bought those chrome fog light plug trims, But instead just bought the OEM replica fog light of ebay for almost the same price. Black Is an awsome color.. and to me Black and Chrome just "say's it all", with out all the cheesy add-ons(stripes). Also if you don't need a front license plate, just remove the holder, and keep a clean front end. Just My honest opinion

I don't care for the blacked out look, but again, that is what makes these cars fun is that we can personalize them and they all look good.

Black and chrome is the best combo (for me).

Certainly get the lower billet if not for looks, at least for safety reasons. I agree with jst333 that black is a special color but (again, I think) looks great stock with chrome. I LOVE the stock chrome rims and love the grill--these are what attracted me to HHR to begin with and even insisted the dealer put them back when I bought Blackie (had some cool rims on, but not for me).

Sure I've added a few (chrome) things, but for the most part, have left it stock (although there are a few pink touches coming up soon!). Yours is unique in the sense it is an AA5 and you should try and keep that uniqueness!

Just my opinion--but ultimately, it is yours to make your own!

Paul, my 2 cents are worth just about that much but my suggestion is this.
You bought this truck because you liked something about it and what you saw you could do with it. It's nice to have others opinions but they are just that. And since you are making the payments, make her over as you see fit. It's about your vision not ours. That's why we bought ours :)

Have Fun and enjoy your ride,
curtsy
