Calling all 3 bar grille owners

I want to see some up close shots of the grilles. Focused on how the mesh sits in the area left when the bars are removed. I am really wanting to do this mod. A chrome 3 bar and a black bow tie just floats my boat. Thanks in advance!

HI Don this is not what you are asking for but thought I would give you one more option. This is my one bar grill you would have to find some one to rechrome it after all the fab work was done.

You can see how clean and tight the mesh is when you get all the bars level with one another. You can not get the mesh to fit like that on a 3 bar grill as the bars are all at different levels.

Awesome Mike. I want to see how the outer frame looks after the bars have been removed so I can see how that mesh sits up against it.

thats my point. If the mesh sits flush everywhere else but gapped out where the bars are removed Im so not doing that. Im going to swap grilles tomorrow anyways so Im going to really have a look at some alternatives. Im getting my primo smooth glossy white Collier Grille tomorrow. Ahh chaaa chaaaaaaaaaa

GTO Mike's 1 bar is amazing and that took lots of talent to do that. Im a grille whore, I want like 3 or 4 different ones including a stock chrome one to change out the look.

I'd have thought by now some company would have come out with one of these.

I have a few 3 bar photos for you. I had the same question when I did mine, how much of the bars need to be removed and what will it look like. I've done both.

This is my first 3 bar, I only removed the bars and no additional material from the sides of the grill.

Here's the second one, on this one the extra material on the sides were trimmed off to make a smooth edge. Small detail, and just a little more work for a more finished product. To give credit where it is due, CJ did the work on this 3 bar.

Excellent work and thanks for the detailed shots. So on the 1st one, you pushed/formed the mesh in the cutout areas or is there a gap there? I was thinking instead of cutting the bar out as you have to cut it vertically straight done to remove the bar. Close as possible of course and the mesh could be manipulated to hide the cut. I'll know more tomorrow when I have it off and in my hands.
