Correct, the mesh makes a turn into the sides of the grill. It is done the same on both grills. Here's a photo that shows where the mesh was cut along the sides, after the cut is made I bent the edge with pliers for a clean fit.

That looks amazing and really sharp work. Thanks for all the replies, especially the close up shots. We did Kris's rear springs and a sway bar today and I got to swap out my grille. After really looking at it, there is really no other way to remove the bars without the curved cut outs. Nevertheless, the right pattern of mesh and fitting it flush will make it ok I think. I just have to make it white.

grille mesh

Hey Don, i'm not sure what kind mesh they were using on their grille's. But at my work i sell a steel mesh that has a 1/4 hole hexagon mesh that might work. I was thinking of a g2g next weekend after work to do some mods but they are forcasting rain for next weekend.Maybe the week after.

Where do you get the grille like that with the word CHEVROLET on it?

This is my first 3 bar, I only removed the bars and no additional material from the sides of the grill.

Here's the second one, on this one the extra material on the sides were trimmed off to make a smooth edge. Small detail, and just a little more work for a more finished product. To give credit where it is due, CJ did the work on this 3 bar.

what the title says, I have been looking for one of those for so long and have been unable to find one.

I took one step further and removed the bowtie.

3Bar minus paint
Then painted to color match 'Toughie"
