Center Caps

Would these work on the 15" steelies I just put on with my winter wheels?

Nope...those are 4.75" bolt spacing...about 3/8" off.

Make your own. I did. Start with a plastic hub cap with 110mm lugnut spacing. Make sure it has enough material in the center to leave a center cap. (I bought mine at Kmart - and can provide a manufacture if wanted). First I waxed it then masking tape it off. Make a paper template and trace this on the masking tape. Take a dremmel tool (with cutting wheel) and cut the excess away. I started by leaving a little extra material and then used a drum wood fixture on the dremmel to get the final shape. (actually after rought cutting I then removed the masking tape - retaped and retraced the circumference). Though they are close to perfect, mine still has 5 little depressions where the spokes were on the full size hub cap but these are barrely noticable. One could either take a little more off the circumference and use the chrome plastic door protector edging to cover these - maybe without even making a little smaller. But I, for now didn't want the extra bump - might try it in spring. Next drill out the plastic lug nuts and carefully grind out the excess until a lip is left to grab the plastic factory lug nuts - keep checking for roundness. Insert the factory lug nuts in the hole - and your done.

I think I have intermediary step pictures if necessary. Thanks. John

did the hub caps from Kmart have covers for the stock lug nuts? how much did it run ya? I like the look. I wanted to get the caps that the police use, but you need a special wheel for them

plus they cost $91 EACH!!
