Chevrolet script above the grill

I put this on about a few weeks ago, but have been too lazy to post it up for you guys to see. This is just a vynil decal, but I still think that it sets the front end apart pretty well.

And a full body shot for you too because I still love to look at my Atomic Pumpkin

Yes, I blurred out the liscense plates in one picture and not the other. Oh well. I guess that I won't have to worry about blurring it any more

I was thinking of trying to find some chrome trim to put around the outer edge of the billet grill. The hope is to try and clean up the transition from hood to grill. Does anyone have suggestions as to what type of trim tape might work for that purpose?

Why would you blur your license plate anyway? It's not like hundreds of people don't see it every time you drive...

The script looks good, but maybe a little crooked? Hard to tell. There are also several bars on your grille that are bent. Nit picking aside though.....uh...guess I don't have anything else to say.

It looks fine to me. There will alway someone to find fault no matter what we do. We are all proud of the things we do to our cars, so I say, to each his own.

I'll agree with that.

The script looks crooked because it is crooked. I measured everything out and lined it up according to the bottom edge of the backing tape. What I didn't realize is that the backing tape was trimmed at a slight angle to the letters . You have a good eye to notice that so easily in that small image. So, I know that in the future when applying decals, I should measure to the edge of the actual decal, not the edge of the trim tape.

As for the grill, it is one of those "upper lower grill combos" that peaple are getting on Ebay for under $100.00. You get what you pay for! As funds become more available I will probably upgrage the upper grill to something a bit higher quality. But for the price, I can't really complain about a few bent bars on the grill.

Thanks for the feedback, and don't worry about being nit-picky. I find these things a little maddening myself and will have to fix them at some point in time.

I was thinking about getting the CHEVROLET script in chrome raised letters to replace the black vynil, but I suspect that I would have difficulty applying something like that to the front of the hood as it is curved and has a crown right in the middle where the R would be.

Where did you get the script at anyway, ebay? It would look sweet if there was a cool pin stripe design above it.

The bars on your grille can be bent back pretty easily. A couple bars on mine were bent as well, but I just carefully used a screwdriver to pry them back.

Thanks for the tip. I will have to give that a try this weekend.

And yes, I did get the script on Ebay. The guy is selling lots of vynil decals for the HHR. The price is reasonable, and he ships really fast. The shipping is a bit much considering he only had to use one stamp, but it isn't too bad.

I have been considering some pinstripe designs, but I can't find a decal one that I actually like. I will have to keep looking. I don't want to get carried away with vynil decals. It is easy to cross the line from tasteful to tacky really quickly with stuff like that.
