Chrome tail light ring, will it work?

I was behind a 2006 Kia Amanti a few days ago and wondered if this would fit around our HHR tail lights. I went to a Kia dealer to get another look. I had forgotten bring a measuring tool to get dimensions.

From looking at it at at the KIA dealer, the chrome ring is on the inside of this lens and looks asi f it could be easily removed and is a continous ring. Perhaps locating one at a junk yard or Kia parts house.

Might there be adventurous folks willing to look into this further.....

I hope they do also. The only thing turning me off about using chrome molding is the seam where it joins.

Ch Thats The Only Reason Why I Haven't Used Molding Because The Joints Would Show. If They Were Cut On An Angle Maybe They Wouldn't Show As Much?

I agree, I don't like seem either. Mine have seperated a bit and looks sloppy. I know others have used other adhesives to help close that gap.

Your quest is to go measure one of these rings on the Kia!

I've spoken with several vendors about getting the billet rings made and always get the same story: a lot of wasted material and time on the machine.
We need 4 rings per vehicle, and that's a lot of little rings!

Shame on you Sindy for not measuring!

Kia what? guess I'll hit the dealer tomorrow...

I used the 'ol trusty measuring tool all girls use, thumb to index finger tip hand span to estimate. It was close!

Do the "L" Looser on your forhead, that's how I measured, with my hand in that shape!
