CJ's 2Tone HHR Painting Seat Project- 1 seat Done Cept HHR logo

Oh and remember i have an LS with Cloth Seats. But this Classic Coat OEM paint will paint leather, vinyl and fabric.

the middle is graphite like the side stripe on the door. the fabric around the middle will be Dark Grey like the top of the Dash and i am leaving the bottom and back and edges normal light grey to make the seats tri tone and the decal and HHR logo will be lightly colored on the graphite for a ghosted look like on the sides of the doors

I will probably just keep editing this message for the next 2 steps.

Remember this is the first step of 3 steps per seat
step 1- paint center and headrest- chevy graphite
(the graphite is the color of the side strip on the door)
step 2- paint edge on front of graphite- Chevy Dark Gray (color of top of dash)
step 3- paint my HHR logo on headrest and then chevy logo on upper middle of seat w Chevy Dark Gray

dont make judgement till it is all done
i should have the front seats done by tomorrow and will do back seat later

i will prob just paint the rear seat to match and leave off the logo,,,, will see

here is pics of step 1

I like it a lot but I would have left the headrest alone.

Cj, I like it a lot. When dried does it fade or rub off on the clothes? Does it die the fabric or is it really a paint? Looking forward to the finished picture.

will be 3 tone when i am done- like the insides, light grey, dark grey and graphite. These are Chevy OEM colors and codes. Way better than Duplicolor

here are the URL's for the photobucket
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/100_0441.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/100_0442.jpg

does not fade, does not rub off after 10 min and totally solid after 24 hours
it is real paint

it's description is:
made by SEM
Classic Coat- flexible coating
Changes or Renews Color on most vinyl and leather

CLASSIC COAT uses advanced technology to provide superior adhesion and flexibility when changing or restoring the color of most leather and vinyl. CLASSIC COAT is a fade resistant coating that won’t chip or peel and is available in many of today’s popular OEM colors.

According to the specs you posted, the product is for leather and vinyl. Your seats are cloth.

Do they also say it's for cloth? Hope so.

I called them and if you look at the pic on their site it also does carpet
its forte is leather and vinly so they push it cause of it not cracking

i bought this under the advice of a shop that does custom work on interiors. he told me they had the same paint in all sizes for use w a paint gun or air brush

i just bought the easy to use aerosal cans

it was easy to use and took 3 coats

I was thinking of doing the same thing with the two-tone but I was going to use leather instead. Painting it is a much cheaper route. It looks good. Did you take off the cloth or just painted inside the car?
