Not sure what you are talking about so I must not have one on my LS.

Yup, I did more investigating into it and it seems that only the SS models have this little ring under the shift handle... You have to lift up on it to shift into reverse. It is a real PITA and makes finding or fitting a new shift handle very difficult...
