Question dash window vent

I couldn't find any reference to this by searching so here we go......

Does anyone know if the vent in the pic can be removed? If it can, how?

(thanks to another member for the pic from the gallery)

Why do you want to remove it? I believe it is for defogging the side windows.
(Unless you never need the defroster where you live )

I guess I should have made it more clear, sorry.

I want to take it out to paint and then put it back.

I'm not 100% sure because I have never taken them off on my HHR but there is probably a little plastic tab on each side that holds them in. Thats how they were held in on my Mustang so it might be the same.

If all else fails, drop by the dealership and ask them if they know how to remove them.
