door lock post inside
does anyone make another kind of door lock posts i guess you call them. i hate how there right in the way of putting your arm out its so annoying.there so tall i was looking for some shorter ones so when you lock the door there flush with the door panel. i couldnt find anything and i dont really know any good hhr websites to search

I put mine in the unlock position so they were as high as possible, then chopped them off as close to the door panel as possible. Then reinstalled the chrome stems and locked the doors. They sit just about flush in the locked position now. When unlocked, they sit in the same position that "locked" used to be.

The aren't 'threaded' like the old ones were back in the day. The look 'twisted' like those nails that are used to install "Hardy Board" on the outside of a house. Or if you have ever seen the cutting "bit" for a RotoZip. Roughly one full counter-clockwise turn and mine were off. Very steep pitch.
I covered mine with a piece of T-shirt material and grabbed it with a set of channel lock pliers. Barely left a mark.
