It takes a lot of work, as the bowtie logo tops & bottoms are connected to the bars above/below it. When we're finished this grille will have mesh behind to protect everything inside, and will be painted body color.

I just added a cable tie base mount under the inside of the front bumper to hold the grill more securely in the center, and it help quite a bit.
