Exterior wax / polish

Hi all, I just thought I'd share some things with you about waxes and polishes etc. Now keep in mind that I'm no professional in the detailing arena and don't subscribe to the typical "snake oil" sales pitch. I recently tried the new Meguires Tech Wax and this stuff gives an incredible deep wet look shine and leaves no swirl marks at all....works for me. But as with any wax here in Florida it tends to accumulate pollen and dust. I also used this stuff called "Dri Wash N Guard" but was not pleased with it's depth of shine. So anyway, I washed and clay bar'ed my car then followed up with a new coat of Meguires Tech Wax (awsome deep shine), but the next day the car was coverd with pollen. I then took the "Dri Wash N Shine" and applied it to just the front clip, fortunately since the car had an already deep shine from the Meguires Tech Wax the Dri Wash N Shine didn't appear to do much, but at the same time it didn't degrade the shine the Tech Wax had already provided. Now today, the areas with just the Tech Wax were still just as shiny as before, but there was a coat of pollen / dust to contend with. However, the front clip where I applied the Dri Wash N Guard is still just as shiny as the day before and no dust or pollen has accumulated at all and the bug's I killed today just wipe off, So I'm thinking that maybe we need a combo of stuff to protect our paint.

I agree 100% about the NXT wax but I didn't even think about it being the reason my car gets so dusty. What is this "Dri Wash N Guard" and how is it applied.Sorry if I sound like an idiot but I've never heard of it..

I use Meguiar's Gold Class wax, and wipe down daily with their Spray Detailer. This combination gives a dealy shine and as mentioned above - makes wiping off bugs, etc. a breeze! (Oh, and out here we also use "California Dusters" regularly to control dust.)

I was just searching the internet on waxes and polishes and stumbled accross this stuff. After reading about it's claims and some testimonials I decided to give it a shot. It was pretty expensive so I looked it up on eBay and found it much cheaper. I've alway's used Meguiers detailer but this stuff does a much better job I think. The best thing about the NXT wax and Dri Wash N Guard combo it that I have a black HHR and have absolutely no swirl marks anywhere on the paint and it always looks wet.

I have had good luck with "Liquid Glass" on my bikes and cars. Give it a try.

I waxed mine with Meg's NXT last weekend and I was stunned at how sweet it looked...and what a dust magnet. My Cali Duster has been working overtime.
