GM Running boards - many colours being discontinued

7 yr law
Just a thought....
cars with those colors will come standard with running boards?????? Also, manufacturers are required by federal law to carry replacement parts for, I believe, 7 years after last year of produced vehicle. Maybe they'll just come as "plane janes" and painting will be done by dealers.
Just another idea, folks.

Yeah Black Rose...
I noticed you posted a few of the Canadian Colors. Which are probably the same as the US, just a different name. Curious again.....
is there anything else on the Canadian cars that is different??

If memory serves correct, that law only applies to parts that are deemed necessary for the continuation of a vehicle's on-the-road operation, not necessarily an add-on like running boards. I can't remember the exact phrasing, but it's something like "necessary for continued on-the-road operation" of a vehicle, or something along those lines...

This site is just a reseller for genuine GM parts...so they don't have to keep anything on hand if they don' want to, I would think. Here's what's in the fine print on their pages.

Snoopy, there are a few things different on the Canadian HHR's. One thing that comes to mind right away is the passenger light airbag display on the center stack. I'm sure there are other very small things as well.
The biggest is that running boards are now standard on 2007 HHR's in Canada

Here are the other differences I can find.
The passengar airbag status indicators are different.
The brake system warning indicator is different.
According to the owners manual, Canadian models do not have an upshift indicator.
According to the owners manual, the automatic headlamp system can only be turned off if the transmission is in park for automatics or the parking brake is on for manuals.
I already mentioned the running boards for 2007.
The other one I noted is that for 2007, if you order the upgraded Pioneer stereo system you have to get XM. There is not an option to get the Pioneer stuff without XM.
