Mine was done professionally with a spray:

There is a product called NightShades that you could use to do the same thing yourself.

You can get precut vinyl overlays for the headlights here. I also got a blue sheet for my fog lights, though you can't see it in the picture. Like HillsdaleHHR said, I'd recommend a spray for the tail lights because they are so curvy. Whether it's done at a shop or with nite shades, which you can find on ebay.

I had the overlays on my headlights for a while. Liked the look, but not the reduced light at night. Took them off after a few weeks.

I just ordered a set of headlight covers, forgot you even had yours. How hard were they to put on? Did you have to use a soap solution or anything?

Easy to put on but I lost one after a couple of weeks. Just blew off one night cruising, I wasn't even on the highway.

I used a solution from their site. There is plenty leftover if you want to use it. I got the thick protective vinyl, not sure what anybody else had. Mine have been on through an Illinois winter and I haven't had problems with peeling or anything. I didn't notice a difference in visibility at night either. The install was a little frustrating, but it might have been the thickness of the vinyl or because it was cold when I put it on, or lack of vinyl experience. Ended up with quite a few bubbles, but they all went away after a couple weeks.

Same place. You have to buy a sheet and cut it to size.
